Everything for Windows

A background app that connects your PC to your workspace. It carries the three things a web app can't: the assistant, dictation, and meeting recording.

What it does

The assistant

The chat panel in Everything runs Claude Code on your PC, under your own Claude subscription. Nothing runs on our servers, and your slash commands and skills are the ones already installed here. Alt+Shift+Space opens it from anywhere.

Dictation

Press Alt+Shift+D in any field in the app to dictate (Alt+D alone is the browser's address bar, which is why Windows gets the ⇧). The browser captures the audio; your PC transcribes it against the same Claude login, so it costs nothing and the credential never leaves the machine.

Meeting recording

Zoom, Teams, Webex, Slack huddles and Google Meet, recorded on this PC and filed against the right record with a transcript. Needs ffmpeg, which the installer tells you how to get.

Not iMessage

That one needs a Mac. There is no Messages database to read and no Messages app to drive on Windows, so a paired PC is never asked to send a text - your Mac keeps that job.

Installing it

A couple of minutes, and no administrator rights.

  1. 1

    Unzip it and run install.cmd

It copies itself to your user folder, so the download can be deleted afterwards. Windows will say “Windows protected your PC” on the first run, because this build isn't code-signed yet. Click More info, then Run anyway. You'll see it once per version, and the SHA-256 at the bottom of this page is there to check the file against if you'd rather verify than trust.

  2. 2

    Sign in to Claude Code

The assistant runs on your own subscription, so it needs Claude Code installed and signed in once: claude.com/claude-code. Run claude, type /login, follow the prompts.

  3. 3

    Paste the pairing code

In Everything: Settings → Integrations → iMessage → “Get a pairing code”. The installer asks for it. Codes last ten minutes and work once.

  4. 4

    For recordings, add ffmpeg

winget install Gyan.FFmpeg, then reopen your terminal. Everything else works without it. Run helper.cmd doctor any time to see what's missing and the command that fixes it.

Recording audio, before you rely on it

Capturing the other people on a call needs a loopback audio device, and Windows does not always have one. With it, a recording carries the call and your microphone together. Without it, it carries your microphone alone and the other side is inaudible - which can't be fixed after the call, so the helper says which case you are in before you start, at startup, and again on the finished file. Enabling “Stereo Mix” in Sound settings, or installing VB-Audio Cable, is the fix.

What leaves your PC

The turns you send from the assistant, what Claude Code answers, the recordings you make, and the names of the slash commands installed here. Your Claude credential never leaves. The helper holds a device token you can revoke from Settings at any time, which stops it immediately. Turns run with tool permissions granted, so a prompt written in the web app can run commands on this PC - it is your machine, your Claude and your workspace, but that is the exposure.
