Finance

Money in, money out

Receipts read on their own. Invoices that are legally yours. Both reconciled against the bank.

Finance

Every receipt that lands in the mailbox, every invoice a vendor emails, every PDF you drop in: read, categorised, and totted up by vendor and by month. Expenses is the money-out half of Finance.

Receipts arrive three ways

Email
Billing mail from a vendor’s known senders is parsed on its own. Connect the mailbox the receipts go to.
API
Some providers sync receipts directly.
Upload
Drop a PDF or a photo. Vendor, amount, date and invoice number are read off it. A PDF with several invoices becomes one expense each.
Expenses and income
The two tabs of Finance.

Working the list

  • Approve, reject, categorise. Categories are yours.
  • Vendors are records: every expense from a vendor on one page, with the contract and the contact.
  • Duplicates are detected and skipped. Currencies stay separate.
  • Bulk edit: categorise a filter, mark a month reviewed.
Expenses
By vendor, by category, month to date.

Reading it

Spend by category and vendor, month to date, and the trend against the prior period. The assistant answers the rest: what did we spend on tools last quarter, which vendors went up.

Around finance

The parts of the workspace this one works with.

Income

Money in. Every document you issued, paid against unpaid, by client, reconciled with Stripe.

Income is every document you issued: invoices, receipts, credit notes. Paid against unpaid, by client, with the Stripe payment reconciled beside it so the books match the bank.

Unlinked documents

Green Invoice

Issue invoices, receipts and credit notes that are legally yours, and reconcile them against Stripe.

Income rides on your invoicing provider account, connected per user. Documents issued from Everything are issued by the provider, numbered by the provider, and legally yours. A correction is a credit note, which is how invoicing compliance works.

Sync

Stripe

Read-only. Revenue, MRR, churn, overdue invoices and customer billing health, with Stripe still the source of truth.

Connect Stripe and the money shows up where the relationships are. Each customer carries its MRR, its subscriptions and whether the last payment went through. The Revenue report reads real cash. Nothing is written back; Stripe stays the source of truth.

Questions

Personal cards?+

Forward the receipt to the mailbox, or upload it. The source is recorded.

Is the reading accurate?+

Vendor, amount and date are read reliably from most receipts. Anything uncertain is flagged for a look.

Can I chase unpaid invoices from here?+

Yes. Filter to unpaid and ask the assistant to draft reminders, or send them yourself with the hosted link.

Is this bookkeeping?+

It is the record of what you issued and what was paid. Your accountant still closes the books; the export is for them.

Can I edit an issued invoice?+

No. Issued documents are immutable. Cancel it with a credit note and issue a new one.

Other providers?+

Green Invoice today. Write to support about yours.

Read only?+

Yes. Nothing here changes a subscription or a charge. Do that in Stripe.

Several Stripe accounts?+

Connect each. Revenue is reported per currency and per account.

Try finance on your own data

Connect your email, then open a person. Most of the product shows up on that one page once the mail is in.
